Rams Approval Ratings [Poll]: Head Coach Jeff Fisher

On October 14th, 2009 Ryan Van Bibber posted an approval ratings article on TST that, while short and sweet, should have it’s five year anniversary celebrated.  And the timing couldn’t be better.

Steve Spagnuolo, fresh off his Super Bowl XLII victory as the New York Giants’ defensive coordinator, was in his first year as a Head Coach in the NFL.  According to your preseason vote, 93% [of nearly 1,000 voters] approved of the Rams’ signing.  It made sense...the Rams’ defense had allowed 29.1 points per game in 2008; a figure only bested by the Detroit Lions [32.3].  The Rams won two more games than the Lions that year.  The Rams won two games that year.  Meanwhile, Spags is in New York leading one of the fiercest defenses in the NFL.

More relevant to this post, Van Bibber checked the fan pulse again - five years ago - after the Spagnuolo-lead Rams lost 38-10 to the Vikings in Week 5...at home.  It marked the fifth consecutive loss for the Rams.  [As an aside, the Rams won one game in 2009. They beat the...you guessed it... Lions]. Yet, two-thirds of you were still pretty satisfied...

So here we are in 2014, well after the Spagnuolo experiment has ended, again with a dreadful record, and it only seems fitting that we reach out to the fans to gauge their thoughts on Jeff Fisher; who’s almost midway through his third season as Head Coach in St. Louis.

The Rams are now 1-4 on the season...a season which I’m sure most have given up on.  The 2015 draft talk has begun.  "Heads need to roll.” “The Rams are losing their way to Los Angeles." You’ve already heard all of this, so I’ll just shut up and let you vote...
