The Rams are going with the youth movement on Monday Night Football, starting both of their two 2014 NFL Draft first rounders and dressing two mid-round picks who had struggled to be named active on gameday.
Greg Robinson, the #2 overall pick, gets his first NFL start as Rodger Saffold slides over to replace Davin Joseph at RG. Robinson had missed nearly all of the Rams' offensive work in 2014 save for some early playing time in week one and a single snap thereafter due to a helmet malfunction for Rodger Saffold. It's a high-intensity first go for the Auburn product who hasn't been able to crack the first unit until tonight.
Meanwhile, Aaron Donald jumps ahead of Kendall Langford on the depth chart to get the start aginst the Niners. The Rams will need him, and the rest of the defensive line, to live up to the preseason billing if they're going to keep Colin Kaepernick and Frank Gore in check.
Meanwhile, Tre Mason and Maurice Alexander are included in the squad. Mason's a recipient of the spot freed up by an injured Chase Reynolds while Alexander jumps in largely due to the absence of DL Alex Carrington.
#Rams inactives: WR Chris Givens, QB Case Keenum, CB Trumaine Johnson, CB Brandon McGee, RB Chase Reynolds, OL Barrett Jones, DT Carrington.
