NFL Playoffs Open Thread: SD/CIN, SF/GB

The playoffs got off to a wonderful start yesterday. Can the rest of the wild card round hold up?

Stan Liu-USA TODAY Sports

Goodness my hoodness was last night fun. That was almost too much good NFL playoff football.

Almost.

Today we've got another pair of wild card games with some interesting matchups...and conditions.

We start in Cincinnati with a Bengals team that was a perfect 8-0 at home largely off the back of their defense which ranked 5th in points allowed, passing yards allowed and rushing yards allowed each. That makes for an interesting battle against the Chargers' passing attack which was fourth in yardage. Plus, the Chargers are getting hot at the right time winning their last four games including wins over Denver on the road and a week 17 win to get in game over the Chiefs.

Following the AFC game, we're all just gonna sit around and talk about the weather. Oh and football. Wind chill around game time looks to be about -15, so we'll get some fun visuals in a contest between discount double check and the bicep smoocher. Sounds like a wrestling match. Might end up looking like one too.
