Senior Bowl 2014: Rams lining up linebackers, tackles ... and a long snapper

The Rams have been talking to a host of linebackers at the Senior Bowl this week.

Linebackers. Coaches and scouts from the St. Louis Rams are lining up the linebackers in Mobile this week among their interviews with prospects at the Senior Bowl. Which only makes sense considering their need at the position for both depth and a starter to replace free agent Jo-Lonn Dunbar.

Attaochu was a first-team All-ACC defensive end for Georgia Tech this year. He played standup linebacker, as a pass rusher, the two seasons prior, before they made the switch to a 4-3. He had 12 sacks last season, so having his hand in the dirt wasn't much of an impediment.

Some other players that the Rams have been seen talking to in Mobile this week:

(Caveat, they talk to damn near everyone, so take this all very rationally. It's compiled from a variety of sources).

Brandon Thomas, OT, Clemson
Tyler Ott, LS, Harvard
Chris Borland, LB, Wisconsin
Jordan Matthews, WR, Vanderbilt
Seantrel Henderson, OT, Miami

They talked to Borland and Ott at the Shrine game too.

So, the tackles are an obvious one too. But what's this long snapper business?

They signed current long snapper Jake McQuaide to an extension last year. Cutting him would leave $400,000 in dead money on the cap.
