Pro Football Writers of America Name Quinn DPOY: St. Louis Rams’ Official Site

In what could be the first of a host of awards this offseason, Rams DE Robert Quinn was named the Defensive Player of the Year by the Professional Football Writers of America on Wednesday.

One Ram Makes Gil Brandt’s All-Rookie Team: NFL.com

As we head into Championship Sunday, with the spotlight shining ever stronger on established NFL stars like Tom Brady and Peyton Manning, it's worth remembering a few of the rookie standouts from 2013. Any guesses as to which of the Rams rookies made the squad?

…and if you’re interested in how Brandt ranks his college athletes, you’ll be interested to see who he’s got as the nation’s top football player.

Brian Schottenheimer a Candidate For Vanderbilt’s Head Coaching Vacancy: CBS Sports

In the race to find Vanderbilt's next head coach, two NFL offensive coordinators - one who currently resides in St. Louis - have landed interviews to possibly take the job given up by James Franklin when he went to Penn State.

A Seinfeld Reunion In The Works For the Super Bowl? CBS Sports

It's been a long time since Seinfeld was on the air waves. There's always hope that it'll return in some form or fashion and maybe that could happen in the form of a Super Bowl XLVIII commercial. [Huge fan of the show…if you’re not, then this is probably one link to pass on.]

The Top 25 NFL "Must Sign" Free Agents: ESPN [Insider]

Have an ESPN Insider account? No worries! Mike Sando doesn’t see any of the Rams’ free agents as "must sign" anyways! For those that do, are there players on this list than interest you? Jairus Byrd? Alex Mack? T.J. Ward? Anquan Boldin…Hakeem Nicks?

On the Potential of Losing Schottenheimer: ESPN

For all intents and purposes, it's been one of the quietest offseasons in recent memory for the St. Louis Rams. Perhaps it's been a little too quiet.

Short and to the point, I can appreciate the simplicity of this response from the Cardinals’ Twitter dept…

Pass Rush Productivity From Edge Rusher: Pro Football Focus

There’s no denying that Robert Quinn put together a very special 2013 season. Awards aside, the numbers are startling. Quinn combined for 91sacks, hits, and hurries this season…it wasn’t close for second place. The productivity of his pass rush snaps is most impressive.

All-Star Games and the NFL Draft: National Football Post

The Senior Bowl, the Shrine Game and the NFLPA Bowl offer a stage for players to rise and fall. If you’re not a college football expert, but want a sneak peak at some of the NFL’s future stars, here are a few games you’ll want to mark on your calendar.

This is an awesome read on a few of college football’s finest: Sammy Watkins, Mike Evans, Kelvin Benjamin, and Marqise Lee. Here’s an in-depth look at where each caught the ball, what they did with if thereafter, and who couldn’t hold onto the pass. 57% on screens…really?!?

A Season In Review - Offense: St. Louis Rams’ Official Site

As they opened the season against Arizona with a new starting running back for the first time since 2003, and with an infusion of youthful talent among the team’s receiving corps, the Rams were prepared for a season of transition offensively.

Oh. Ya don’t say?

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p>If Brian Schottenheimer somehow gets Vandy HC job, that would open up <a href="https://twitter.com/search?q=%23Rams&amp;src=hash">#Rams</a> OC job for Kyle Shanahan. Perfect spot for him for many reasons.</p>&mdash; Chris Russell (@Russellmania980) <a href="https://twitter.com/Russellmania980/statuses/423463240438657024">January 15, 2014</a></blockquote>

Clowney Intrigues Texans As Top Pick: St. Louis Post Dispatch

Bridgewater who? Texans owner Bob McNair gushed over South Carolina defensive end Jadeveon Clowney, and Rams fans took notice. McNair, a South Carolina man himself, had this to say on the Texans website:

"He's one of these players who's a once in every 10 years kind of physical specimen that comes along. Mario Williams was that way. I think Clowney is actually a better athlete than Mario."

Bernie Milkasz Goes Trolling: St. Louis Post Dispatch

The Rams defense is certainly it’s strong suit. The offense, however, is much to blame for the Rams mediocrity. Bernie goes trolling, and he says Johnny Manziel is just the thing the Rams need to kickstart a high-powered, exciting offense!

If you’re not sure how previous transactions will affect the upcoming draft, click the link. As we already know, the Rams are picking twice in the first round as a result of the RG3 trade. But the Browns - who the Rams probably hope to receive a call from - have SEVEN picks in the first four rounds.
