NFC WEST: Week 2 Predictions

I’m already contemplating this Sunday’s games. After this last nail bitter I’m sorry to say that it’s not going to get any easier. Not only do we have to worry about the Rams playing their first road game. The first major division game between San Francisco and Seattle is going to be played at Seattle.

Rams @ Falcons:

This is a winnable game for us! Atlanta showed that they still have problems with stopping the pass rush, which means Quinn is likely to have another big game like this past Sunday. If Chris Long can get his act or body back working again, we should be in Matt Ryan’s face all afternoon. Ryan was hit 6 times and had a triple-sackectomy.

Another problem that surfaced for Atlanta was how their secondary began to fade in the second half. This allowed Brees to pick them apart and I expect we are going to see our receivers have another good day. The defense for the Falcons seemed to have problems in several major areas. The OL had its share too, with both of the offensive tackles struggling to keep out the rush.

Cardinals hosting Lions:

Well the Lions played a great game on the shoulders of Reggie Bush rushing for 90 and receiving for 101 yards. The only problem was he ended up with a dislocated thumb and a groin pull. He won’t be operating at full efficiency even if he does get to play.

Lion’s defense was tuff and Suh is probably in trouble for a diving knee block of Vikings center John Sullivan. It’s under review by the NFL and he might draw a suspension if it’s deemed intentional. Even without him Arizona is in for a tuff day at the ball park.

I don’t see anyway Arizona can win this game even if Suh and Bush are out.

SF 49ers @ Seahawks:

This is the game of the week as far as I’m concerned. I wish both teams could lose but I’ll have to settle for one of them losing. After the struggles Seattle had this week and the ease of which SF won against Green Bay it’s going to take more than the 12th man for Seattle to win this game.

As of this moment this is the score in the NFC West:

Division Standings

Rams

1-0

49ers

1-0

Seahawks

1-0

Cardinals

0-1

After Sunday I’m predicting this:

Division Standings

Rams

2-0

49ers

2-0

Seahawks

1-1

Cardinals

0-2

Rams Win

49ers Win

Seahawks Lose

Cardinals Lose
