Jared Cook will be the talk of the NFL this week. Gone are the naysayers who doubted his high priced free agency contract. His 143 yards and two touchdowns was the best performance by a Rams tight end since...? Well, I can't remember, How about you?
Carson Palmer and the Cardinals' offense acquitted themselves throughout the entire game. The new Arizona quarterback passed for 327 yards and two touchdowns. Wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald returned to his old form, catching both of Palmer's TD throws.
The story of the day has to be Sam Bradford, who looked not just solid, but in complete command through a myriad of Arizona defensive schemes. His one interception was off of a tipped passed. Bradford threw for 299 yards and two touchdowns for a 100.7 passer rating.
The Rams secondary bent under the Bruce Arians air attack, but rarely broke. Robert Quinn's three quarterback sacks was a defensive highlight. Quinn worked over Arizona left tackle Levi Brown the entire game. There were some low notes, especially when it came to covering tight ends in coverage. The Rams played a loose pass coverage the entire game, giving the Cardinal's receivers loads of space at the snap of the ball.
Rams fans are smiling, and rightly so. This team will only get better each week as the young roster gains experience. So how about a game ball? Tell me who you think was the star of the game...
