It's hard enough to see stars in the preseason. Fans won't get to see two of Cleveland's biggest names on Thursday night, when the St. Louis Rams are in town. Running back Trent Richardson and safety T.J. Ward will both sit out this week, each one dealing with nominal aches and pains (we won't bother to call them injuries).
The Browns will also be without Shawn Lauvao, Leon McFadden and running back Montario Hardesty on Thursday, according to the Cleveland Plain-Dealer.
Said head coach Rob Chudzinski:
"We've have a plan for that and we're making sure he gets reps as needed out here in practice and we build him to be ready for the beginning of the season.''
Those scratches mean the Rams will get to see a couple of familiar faces, including running back Chris Ogbonnaya and guard John Greco. Former Rams now wearing brown also include Hall Davis and Justin Cole.
Cleveland plans to play the starters for about a quarter, though calling Brandon Weeden a starter is purely a technicality at this point. (I kid). The Rams will probably do the same with their starters.
"It's the preseason," Chud added in his comments to the Plain Dealer.
It sure is, coach, it sure is.
