What's up Jeff Fishers sleeve this year?

Now that the St. Louis Rams have added some explosiveness to the roster with players like Tavon Austin, Jared Cook, Stedman Bailey, Alec Ogletree and TJ McDonald, I am curious if the devious mind of our head coach is busy in his lab mixing up some concoctions for the special teams this year.

If an NFL team is on the opposite side of the field of a Jeff Fisher coached team, they need to be on high alert when the special teams are on the field. This clip is probably the most famous trick play Fisher put together. It's called the Music City Miracle.

Current Rams fans can recall three special teams trick plays the Rams ran successfully last year.

The first one I am referring to is the one where the Rams faked a field goal attempt and had Johnny Hekker surprise the Seahawks by throwing a TD to a wide open Danny Amendola.

The next two plays were against the 49ers in Frisco. Once again, Johnny Hekker was involved. Punting out of the end zone, the player who was covering Rodney McCleod came off of him to try and block the punt. Hekker wound up throwing the ball to a wide open McCleod for a first down. Later in the same game, during a punt, Hekker faked an end around and bootlegged to a wide open Lance Kendricks for another first down. The only video I could find on those particular plays are 6:48 and 7:06 into this video.

A couple of other trick plays from Fishers past. This one is called Music City Miracle 2.0. Tennessee Titans against the Detroit Lions. The next clip was from the Hall of Fame Game when the Titans once again victimized the Buffalo Bills.

I am sure there are probably a few more plays that I am not aware of that I may have included in this post but you have to admit, Fisher has got to be salivating with the possibilities at his disposal this year. Having Tavon Austin and his abiity to dodge would be tacklers is going to be tough to cover. I can't wait to see it all happen. Go Rams!
