The 2013 preseason wraps up on Thursday night. For the St. Louis Rams it ends at the Edward Jones Dome with a game against the Baltimore Ravens. These two teams have met before, same time, same place: Week 4 of the preseason.
Last year's game was a costly one for the Rams. They lost Michael Brockers for the first part of the season with a high ankle sprain when a second-string lineman rolled onto his ankle. Head coach Jeff Fisher usually plays his starters in the last game of the preseason, but this year looks different. He noted in practice this week that he'd scale back for some of his starters this year.
This week is really about coaches getting one last look at players, making depth chart decisions and deciding who to keep or who to sign to the practice squad. Teams are required to cut rosters from 75 to 53 players by 6:00 p.m. ET on Saturday, Aug. 31. The day after that, teams can start signing players to the practice squad or chasing veteran free agents that get cut elsewhere.
