Rams injury report: Lance Kendricks, Jermelle Cudjo nearing a return

The Rams will have a couple key players back in time for the season opener. Will either one see some reps in the final preseason game?

USA TODAY Sports

The St. Louis Rams have been remarkably lucky with injuries so far this year. Fortune is set to smile on the Rams again with Lance Kendricks and Jermelle Cudjo both close to returning to the lineup.

Kendricks told the Post-Dispatch that he will not play in Thursday night's preseason finale against the Ravens. Cudjo's status for that game is unclear. Both players were practicing at full speed on Monday, and both players are veterans already familiar with the coaching staff and playbooks.

Backup offensive tackle Joe Barksdale is healing up after an infected cut on his hand kept him out of the Denver game last Saturday. He was practicing again on Monday. His status for this week's game is unknown as well. If he can play, the coaches may want to have him out there getting reps since it looks like he's played his way into the third tackle job.

Tight end Cory Harkey has a slight fracture in his leg, and is expected miss a month, which does leave the Rams short a blocker who was expected to be on the 53-man roster.
