The Rams and the Packers go back, way back, all the way back to 1937, in fact. Both teams are two of the oldest franchises in the NFL. The Rams were in Cleveland back in those days. They played a home-and-home series that season, and the Packers won both games.
Since then these two teams have played each other 93 times, in the regular season. The Rams have the edge in that series, 46-45-2. In the postseason, the Packers and the Rams have faced off twice. You probably recall the last one, a 45-17 Rams' win on their way to an NFC title in 2001.
Here's a glance at the series between the two teams.

Familiar faces
The Rams have one former Packer on the current roster, center Scott Wells. He played in Green Bay from 2004-2011, snapping the ball through the Brett Favre and Aaron Rodgers era. This will actually be the first time Wells has faced his former team. He was injured last year when the Rams and Packers played.
Defensive tackle Ryan Pickett is the lone former Ram on the Packers current roster. Pickett, you'll recall, was one of several former first-round defensive tackles who didn't work out in St. Louis for various reasons.
Green Bay's linebackers coach Kevin Greene was a defensive stalwart for the L.A. Rams in the 80s and early 90s. Rams defensive backs coach Chuck Cecil played for the Packers from 1988-1992. Rock Gullickson and Ray Sherman both coached for the Packers in the past too.
The most interesting former connection goes to Brian Schottenheimer and Frank Cignetti, both worked alongside Mike McCarthy in Kansas City in 1998, Marty Schottenheimer's last year as head coach with the Chiefs.
