Bernie Kosar calls Jeff Fisher to apologize

And so another preseason scandal wraps up.

Rick Osentoski-USA TODAY Sports

St. Louis Rams head coach Jeff Fisher got a call from Bernie Kosar over the weekend. It obviously wasn't a social call. The Browns' preseason color commentator was calling Fisher to apologize for criticizing Fisher's players and coach during the broadcast of Thursday's preseason game, according to the Associated Press.

Browns CEO Joe Banner also gave Kosar a stern talking to. The team condemned Kosar's remarks, and told him to clean it up on the air.

From Banner's statement:

"We don't condone the personal and unprofessional approach that Bernie took with some of his comments during the broadcast Thursday night. We've spoken to Bernie, he understands that, and we would expect the situation is resolved moving forward. We've also reached out to the Rams organization and have shared those same sentiments."

So this is it for Kosar-Gate. The guy has a long history of being out of line with his remarks in the booth during preseason games. It's a minor upset that he hasn't been in trouble for them before this.
