The St. Louis Rams start preseason play next week. Real football is getting closer and closer. For now, the team is still on the practice field, and they'll be back at it on Thursday afternoon at 5:30 p.m. Central.
Gates open to fans at 4:30 p.m.
Head coach Jeff Fisher will be looking for his squad to rebound a little after a sluggish outing on Wednesday. It was the second day the full squad was in pads. Fisher noted the change.
"Yeah, they look forward to the first one," Fisher said. "The second one, there temperature picked up a little bit and they just, they got a little antsy I think, but they pushed through it. It wasn't our best practice, but you're going to have one of those every once in a while. You've got to push through it and correct it and explain to them how important every rep is."
Break it down a little further, and by all accounts it was the offense that really struggled on Wednesday. Quarterbacks were picked off, sacked and the running backs were getting stuffed. Understandably, when there's talk of the Rams offense struggling, it tends to make people anxious.
It's nothing to get too alarmed about. This is practice, and we're just barely over a week into it.
