It's finally time for the season to begin, with training camp opening up today. This is the chance for players to begin impressing coaches and making the final 53 man roster.
Which is why instead of worrying about wins and losses during preseason, most of us find players to root for, and hope that they make the team. Remember last year? Cheering for Donnie Avery and/or Danario Alexander to grab a roster, but both of them ended leaving the Rams, and then broke your heart by having solid seasons? Yeah, good times.
This year shouldn't be any different. With all the roster battles and new players, it's going to be easy to latch on to a player. Luckily this year, unless you're a fan of a rookie free agent, the new players are almost guaranteed to make the roster. Will undrafted players like Cody Davis or Ray Ray Armstrong make the roster? Maybe, but it will be interesting to watch them during the preseason
The players that interest me the most are Alec Ogletree and Stedman Bailey. I am a huge fan of Isiah Pead, and I'm pretty sure that he will get his share of touches, so I'm not worried about him.
However I wasn't the biggest fan of Ogletree, but I get why the Rams drafted him and what he will bring to the defense, I just want to see it with my own eyes. Bailey could surprise, he's a good receiver, he just needs to be able to get open, but he could prove to be a security blanket for the Rams. And of course many fans are chomping at the bit to see Tavon Austin in action.
What about you? Which players will you be watching?
