Twelve inches of raw power. Hey, close your innuendo, I'm just talking 'bout a sandwich.
Then we can dig it.
Littlejohn's Deli in Charlottesville, Va., where UVA alum and St. Louis Rams defensive end Chris Long spends a lot of his time, has a sandwich named after the man. And it's one helluva sandwich, let me tell you.
Here's the description of the meaty delight.
Chris Long Sub
12" sub roll with shaved rib-eye steak, horseradish mayo, lettuce, tomato, sweet peppers, bacon, sautéed onions, and melted provolone cheese.
I'm violating the cardinal rule of never writing when you're hungry -- or is it grocery shopping when you're hungry -- but that thing sounds pretty good. It sure would hit the spot right about now.
How did it get named? Does Chris Long eat his own sandwich? Has Sam Bradford ever tried one, and does he have his own sammy at a local deli in Norman, Ok.? Do they have delis in Oklahoma? We've reached out to the good people at Littlejohn's to find out more. Stay tuned.
