Poor some coffee, pop some Ibuprofen and relax, Rams fans. Saint Patrick's Day may be over but the fun is not.
Free agency has been both hot and cold since starting just under a week ago. Teams are reaping huge benefits while others are sitting back and dwindling. Truthfully, there is no correct choice, but both will always be second-guessed.
How have the Rams done thus far? Surely at least one more new name will be added to the roster by the end of the week? Right?
For you kids keeping track at home, there are only 38 more days until the 2013 NFL Draft! For now, though, some links should kill some time...
Jake Long signs with the Rams - The wait is over.
Cook excited for future in St. Louis - For almost a week now, the St. Louis Rams have been nearly silent on the free agent front. However, their one key addition thus far - tight end Jared Cook - still has fans buzzing. Cook is eager to hit the field and the playbook and to build a strong, lasting rapport with quarterback Sam Bradford
Craig Dahl leaves for San Francisco - After four seasons, 40 starts and countless lapses in coverage, Craig Dahl has left the building. On Saturday, he inked a 3-year deal with the division rival San Francisco 49ers. Dahl is now the fifth former Ram to sign on elsewhere in 2013.
Gibson: Rams will be "just fine without me" - You may not want to admit it, but seeing Brandon Gibson leave likely gave you a disappointed feeling deep down. Very deep down. The closest thing the Rams have had to a No. 1 receiver for some time, he will now step into a Dolphins uniform third on the depth chart, where he belongs. As Gibson packed his bags, though, he had nothing but good things to say about his time with St. Louis and the direction which the team is headed.
Incognito lobbying for Long to stay - As Rams fans from far and wide dominated Twitter with the hashtag "whilewaiting4Jake," Dolphins guard Richie Incognito expressed his opinion with the near opposite "bringJakehome." You remember Incognito - the Arian troublemaker who clapped with a smile as he was showered with boos at the Edward Jones Dome. It remains unclear whether Richie will get his wish.
49ers showing interest in Asomugha - With the Darrelle Revis speculation and rumors dissipating, attention has now turned to the Pro Bowl cornerback who isn't currently employed - former Raider and Eagle, Nnamdi Asomugha. San Francisco is considered one of the favorites to land the once thought of best corner in football, who will next visit New Orleans. The Arizona Cardinals have also thrown their hat in the ring.
Matt Forte opposes possible rule change - As the NFL Competition Committee attempts to improve the game by making alterations in the rulebook, some players have spoken out in either agreement or contempt to their proposals. As for Bears running back Matt Forte, he has taken to Twitter to object a potential change which would prevent runners from lowering their head both before and during contact with a defender.
