Jared Cook leaning toward deal with Rams, according to report

The free agent tight end is said to be eyeing a reunion with Jeff Fisher.

The St. Louis Rams might land a big fish in free agency after all. Former Titans tight end Jared Cook is being pursued by several teams, but he is reportedly leaning toward a reunion with his old coach in St. Louis.

A fake Twitter report circulated that it was a done deal, but that's not the case.

Cook would be a nice get for the Rams, giving them a tight end that plays a lot like a wide receiver. He has the hands you like to see, especially after losing Danny Amendola, and the speed to stretch a seam route or work down the outside of the field too.

The Dolphins, not content spending all their money on Mike Wallace, are one suitor in the mix for Cook. Also in the hunt are the Browns and the Bears, who signed Martellus Bennett already.

As far as blocking goes, Cook is not going to be much of a help in that department. Fortunately the Rams have Lance Kendricks who excels at blocking. Together, the two would give St. Louis a twin-tight end set in the same mold as New England's famous pairing.
