Day two of field work of the 2013 NFL Combine saw the wide receivers hit the field early with QBs and RBs working their way around the stadium.
Of course with the wide receivers and running backs, we knew we'd see some good 40 times...but elite? I wasn't prepared for anyone outside of Marquise Goodwin to blaze the 40. I was unprepared.
West Virginia's Tavon Austin has received plaudits for his quickness, and his ability to change direction. I guess we have to throw speed in there now as Austin ran a 4.25 40-yard this morning:
What's odd to me is how easy Austin makes it look. Once he really gets into his stride (around the 20-yard mark - watch his back straighten up), he looks like he could run another 40 at the same pace. Effortless.
Soon after, Texas speedster Marquise Goodwin would match that 4.25 speed, but looked like a track star doing so -- it looked like he was trying. That Tavon Austin GIF makes me a little queasy.
So keep it here throughout the AM as you're watching the QBs, RBs and WRs sort through the combine.
