The Brandon Lloyd Breakout Factor
The Lloyd Breakout Factor - a term coined by PFF - is to "identify unheralded players that could be the next breakout wide receiver using key metrics." The short list for 2013 contains only four players. One of those is a St. Louis Ram. Guess which one.
2012 Football Outsider Awards
Much like Pro Bowl selections, many of the postseason NFL Awards fail to mention any St. Louis Rams players. Football Outsiders has their own list of awards which do include many current [and former] Rams players. Titus Young’s in there…but it’s not a good thing. Danario Alexander’s in there, and it is a good thing…but not for the Rams, who cut him. Can the Rams be a surprise pick for the 2014 Super Bowl?
PFF: Rams 2013 Team Needs
While many of us are focused on crossing days off our calendars until draft day, there’s plenty of talent to be found in the Free Agency pool. PFF identifies Safety, Wide Receiver, and Offensive Tackle as big needs for the Rams this offseason. No surprise there. Who they think could fill those voids - via FA - just might surprise you.
Weekend Warrior Skills Training
Have you got what it takes? It’s easy to sit in your comfy seat and criticize draft prospects. How’s your 40 time? Are you as fast as Chris Johnson? Can you bench press like Dontari Poe? The Rams want to know. On February 23rd, show the Rams that you should be filling in for Craig Dahl at Safety.
Is Percy Harvin Worth a 3rd Round Draft Pick?
I can’t imagine he’s not. Percy Harvin is one of the most electrifying players in football…when healthy. "Ifs," in the NFL, can be very risky. But if he’s able to stay on the field, a 3rd round pick would be considered a steal. Here’s a short list of teams that should be interested in Harvin. You know who’s on this list, don’t you? Expect a bidding war for Harvin, who should be one of the most sought after players in Free Agency this offseason.
Titus "Toxic" YoungJust a friendly reminder; Titus Young is still affiliated with the Rams organization. And though he’s gone from Detroit, the fans their [which clearly aren’t his] continue to spit venom. You’ve probably heard all of this before, but words like ‘cancer’ and ‘toxic’ seem to follow headlines where he’s mentioned. He sounds like a player who wants to prove the nay-sayers wrong. He may not be Calvin Johnson, but if he can be productive for the Rams in 2013, he should give Lions fans even more reason to dislike him.
Buzzworthy Draft Prospects
What NFL Draft prospect doesn’t have a bit of buzz this time of year? Next to none. Well, I present to you this link, because it’s got five specific players highlighted. I’d probably be speechless if we could somehow land them all.
Sports Illustrated Cover Bloopers?
They're referring to them as bloopers…I don’t know that you will.
RotoWorld’s Top 40: Pre-Combine
I find it interesting how mock drafts - and player rankings - progress with each and every day leading up to the draft, regardless of whether or not any football is actually being played or talent being displayed. Names like Justin Hunter and Eric Fisher, which were once strongly affiliated with the Rams draft, appear to to have escaped the realm of possibility. There’s a new name attached to the 16th overall selection. Just how does Josh Norris, of Rotoworld, rank the #1 guard in April’s draft?
Walter Cherepinsky and Dan Kadar Agree On Rams Draft
It’s Chance Warmack and Cordarrelle Patterson…and you like it! Walter updated his mock on Wednesday , and he’s not the only one who sees it panning out that way. Dan Kadar, from Mocking the Draft, agrees. Take a gander at his latest mock.
