January 2013
The new year is a time to gather with friends and reflect on the previous year's journey. The Rams came a long way in 2012, thanks to contributions from young players like Jenkins, the team's 2012 rookie of the year.
February 2013
In the NFL, February is the month when you start thinking about the future. There are free agents to sign, draft picks to scout. The Rams used this month to start thinking about different looks for themselves in 2013, making moves like replacing Steven Jackson and weighing draft picks like Tavon Austin for Brian Schottenheimer's exciting new spread offense that would be unveiled in the fall.
March 2013
Salary cap season. The Rams had their mind on their money and their money on their mind, bringing in big ticket free agents like Jake Long and Jared Cook.
April 2013
Draft time. The Rams made waves with more big time draft picks, getting the team in prime position to be #StripClubReady for the years ahead. And, yes, this is the famous Strip Club Ready picture.
May 2013
Offseason programs wrap up in the month of May. Nutrition is an essential part of being in game shape.
June 2013
Giving back to the community is a big part of the Rams' mission. It's not just about winning football games, it's about winning the hearts and minds. Grass roots support is helpful when it comes time to ask for a new stadium or to demand $400,000 from the state that's already paying you $12 million per year to fill the Dome to 87 percent of its capacity.
July 2013
The offseason ends in July. Players and fans alike took pause, reflected and squeezed in some last minute summer fun.
August 2013
There's no time for IG during training camp.
September 2013
The Rams went 1-3 in September, allowing more than 31 points in all three losses.
October 2013
Things got a little better in October; the Rams went 2-2. They changed their offensive approach during that time too, running the ball instead of being a spread offense. It was a big month for Jenkins too, who got into a shoving match with Steve Smith on the field where he showed off, according to Smith, his knack for using Google to do opponent research, when he was obviously just using it to order the new Jordans. Smith scored a touchdown against Jenkins that helped the Panthers pull off a 30-15 win.
November 2013
The Rams were 2-1, pulling off upsets over the Bears and the Colts this month. Jenkins totaled 12 tackles in those games, and the secondary was much improved. Worthy of a gold watch.
December 2013
An up and down month for the Rams. After that win over the Saints, we kept looking for the Lombardi Trophy stashed away somewhere under the Arch, based on the chatter after that game from the front office and the local media, but they still lost three division games. The Rams finished the season with a 1-5 record in the NFC West, a year after going 4-1-1 in the division.
Confused is the only appropriate reaction to the Rams 2013 season.
