Early College Open Thread: November 2

New, comments

Another late Florida St. game, this one against Miami, anchors the day's slate. Still, though, it's a soft schedule for college leaving opportune scouting for the NFL.

It's not a pretty schedule...which means it's perfect for scouting.

Here are your notes for the day from Mocking the Draft.

#24 Wisconsin at Iowa (12:00 p.m., ABC/ESPN2 - coverage map)

Gotta throw it in here only because I can't suggest many other Wiscy/Iowa contests for yall this year. So with a pretty voidable early schedule, here's a good chance to get in on both. The NFL focus will be on tight ends with Iowa's C.J. Fiedorowicz and Wisconsin's Jacob Pedersen, but there's plenty else here including RB Melvin Gordon.

Backup: Virginia Tech at Boston College (12:00 p.m., ABC/ESPN2 - coverage map)

Same rationale. Yall aint watching either until the bowl games, so give em the benefit of the without...

#21 Michigan at #22 Michigan St. (3:30 p.m., ABC)

Fun rivalry game, albeit without the national implications that are usually attached. Between Michigan LT Taylor Lewan and Michigan St. CB Darqueze Dennard, there are Rams-specific interests involved.

Backup: Georgia at Florida* (3:30 p.m., CBS)

* - played at neutral location: EverBank Field, Jacksonville, FL

Ok, maybe this should have been the go to. Either way, you can't lose.
