Here’s a look at the NFL Power Rankings heading into Week 6. The Rams, who started the season [in the eyes of many] in the mid-to-late teens, have nose-dived since their Week 1 win against the Cardinals. A win against the Jaguars didn’t do much to sway the experts…
SB Nation: 24th
Last week, the Rams gave the struggling 49ers a free tune up. This week, the Jaguars may have done the same for the Rams. The defensive line came alive this week, and the return of linebacker Jo-Lonn Dunbar gave the unit some much needed fire. Sam Bradford and the offense managed to score 34 points, and a Jeff Fisher coached team managed to actually run the ball.
St. Louis got back into the win column with a home victory over the woeful Jags. Vandy productZac Stacy averaged 5.6 yards on 14 rushing attempts to give Sam Bradford and the offense a little punch. Considering how the Rams' passing "attack" has fared when asked to win games this season, Jeff Fisher should perhaps mull the idea of sticking the ball in the rookie's stomach more often.
Enjoy it while it lasts. After games in Houston and Carolina, St. Louis plays seven straight teams currently above .500.
They beat Jacksonville this past week but now go to Houston. Let's wait and see how that goes.
They beat their FCS opponent this week. Need to see more than that before they move up.
The Rams had their highest point total of the season on Sunday, but still not a single player has developed into a true offensive threat.
Does beating Jacksonville at home by only 14 count as a "moral defeat"?
