Late College Open Thread: October 26

The day games have given us plenty to mull over, but the marquee matchups are just about to get going.

Steve Dykes

And heeeeeeeeeere we go.

Here are your notes for the day from Mocking the Draft.

#12 UCLA at #3 Oregon (7:00 p.m., ESPN)

QB's headline this huge Pac-12 matchup, but there's more going on. A+ stuff here if UCLA can stay in it.

Backup: #21 South Carolina at #5 Missouri (7:00 p.m., ESPN2)

It's all on freshman QB Maty Mauk to carry the Tigers through their highest ranking in quite some time. And facing Jadaveon Clowney is a tough show for even the most seasoned QB.

Backup part B: Penn St. at #4 Ohio St. (8:00 p.m., ABC)

If the Buckeyes can get through an inconsistent albeit talented Penn St. team, they should pick up their next three wins leaving just Michigan between them and an undefeated season just like 2012. The only difference? This year, they're BCS-eligible. A win today puts the national championship in clear view.

#6 Stanford at #25 Oregon St. (10:30 p.m., ESPN)

Stanford may have slid back due to that disappointing Utah upset, but there's still plenty of NFL talent on that roster.

Backup: Cal at Washington (11:00 p.m., FOX Sports 1)

I'm putting this game here on Washington alone. RB Bishop Sankey, TE Austin Sefarian-Jenkins, WR Kasen Williams and DT Danny Shelton could all go before day three starts next April. They've got plenty of other NFL talents to boot including QB Keith Price. And the way Steve Sarkisian is recruiting, Washington is going to be in position to feed strong prospects through the draft for years to come.
