Brady Quinn, David Carr & others getting tryouts with the Rams

The Rams will pick up the pace on their search for another quarterback, bringing in some journeymen for tryouts.

The St. Louis Rams are going to be busy this week shopping for quarterbacks. Reports are now surfacing with some names that the team plans to take a look at in the days ahead. One of those players is recently released Jets third-stringer and former first-round pick Brady Quinn.

Others getting consideration, according to Chris Mortensen, include David Carr and Matt Leinart.

Two quarterbacks rejected by the Arizona Cardinals. Yikes.

Quinn saw extended playing time for the Chiefs last season, starting eight games. He completed just over 56 percent of his passes for two touchdowns and eight interceptions.

Austin Davis might be the team's best option, but he's in demand elsewhere.

Obviously, it's a step down from Bradford to whoever takes his place. I get the distinct feeling that the Rams could see more than two starting quarterbacks this season too, considering the state of the offensive line. That unit allowed three sacks and seven more pressures.

Jake Long leads the team in sacks and pressure allowed, with four sacks and a total of 18 more pressures through seven games this season. The Rams signed Long to a four-year, $34 million contract with $16 million guaranteed.
