This week, the St. Louis Rams (2-3) travel to Houston, Texas to take on the recently stumbling Texans (2-3). Faced with a top notch defense, and a running game featuring Arian Foster, the Rams have their work cut out for them. The miscues by quarterback Matt Schaub not withstanding, the Texans are a talented team, through and through.
St. Louis' offensive line has to face a group led by All-Pro J.J. Watt. Sam Bradford will be limited to the short passing game if the Rams' line can't find a way to buy him time in the pocket. Jeff Fisher may get his best look yet at his young team, which has had trouble winning on the road dating back to last season.
On defense, the Rams' will need to stop a strong running game that features "against the flow" cutbacks. To isolate Robert Quinn from backside pursuit, the Texans will run at him, then break back toward Chris Long's left side. Alec Oglettree will once again be challenged, which now seems like a regular occurrence for the former Georgia star linebacker.
How St. Louis plans to deal with Houston's Andre Johnson is another concern, not to mention the stellar rookie year DeAndre Hopkins is having this season. The Rams will need safety help to deal with both the run, and dealing with Johnson. It looks to be a challenging game, one that has the Rams a 7 to 9 point underdog. The over/under currently sits at 42 points. If the Rams find a way to win, it will be one of the biggest upsets in the NFL season thus far.
