The Jacksonville Jaguars are interested in Brian Schottenheimer for the team's head coaching vacancy. That much was reported last week. On Monday, ESPN's Adam Schefter revealed that the Jaguars will sit down with the St. Louis Rams offensive coordinator on Tuesday to interview him for the head coaching job there.

More than a few pundits believe that 49ers offensive coordinator Greg Roman is the favorite for the Jags job. He and Dave Caldwell, Jacksonville's new GM, roomed together in college and during their days with the Panthers. Roman's stock is especially high after this weekend's dismantling of the Packers.
Roman's status in the race complicates it a little. He can't do much of anything while the 49ers are still in the playoffs. For Rams fans, that means it could be a week or more until they know Schottenheimer's status for sure. Something else to think about is that Roman is on the radar for other teams seeking a head coach, including the San Diego Chargers.
