St. Louis Rams Links For The New Year

Happy New Year Rams fans!

Kevin Casey

The season is over and Rams news is winding down. The Rams lucked out landing Jeff Fisher last year, as it would have been hard to nab him with 7 teams looking for head coaches. Overall, I think we can all say 2012 was a good year for the Rams. We saw the emergence of rookies, coaching stability, and nearly had a winning season.

Ideal Scenario - Gary Davenport of The Bleacher Report gives his ideal selections for every team in the NFL. At pick 16 for the Rams he chooses Central Michigan tackle, Eric Fisher. Next, at pick 21, he picks the speedy wideout from West Virginia, Tavon Austin. What do you think Rams nation? Does that sound ideal to you?

Ray Sherman Poached? - Matt Miller lists Rams wide reciever's coach, Ray Sherman, as a potential offensive coordinator prospect for some teams. The Oakland Raiders could be a team to watch out for. Chuck Cecil's name gets thrown out there as another potential poaching.

A New Attitude For A New Year - Jeff Fisher is inspiring. The St. Louis Rams finally have a coach that the players buy in to. The Rams may not have made the playoffs, but they see the light at the end of the tunnel and are ready to do what it takes to get there.

Sorry LA, The Rams Are In The Lou To Stay - Bryan Burwell of STLToday.com offered his insights, along with Kevin Demoff's, about the Rams stadium. Demoff was quoted as saying, "We have to get that resolved and put at ease people’s concerns about where we’re going to play our games within St. Louis over the next 20, 30, 40 years, and then that will put that question to rest."....Take a deep breath.....Now read that again...

Lovie Won't Be Out Long - I was asked if I would take Lovie Smith as defensive coordinator of the Rams and my response was "of course." But the truth is that Lovie Smith will have exactly zero trouble finding a new head coaching gig - he had four interviews during his first day unemployed.

Hope you had a safe and happy New Year's everybody!
