The St. Louis Rams will have Steven Jackson in uniform on Sunday against the Seattle Seahawks. Jackson will be reduced to a more limited role as he recovers from a groin injury and prepares for another game on Thursday night.
Jackson missed practice all week. Head coach Jeff Fisher noted that Jackson's status would likely come down to the wire, though it always sounded like he intended to play the veteran running back. The question now is just what his role will be.
Rookie Daryl Richardson will get more work with Jackson's reduced role. RIchardson has 119 rushing yards on 21 carries this season. Jackson has 140 rushing yards on 41 carries. The seventh-round pick has shown a knack for explosive plays and making things happen in the open field.
That will be a tougher task against a Seahawks defense that is one of the best in the league when it comes to stopping the run.
