NFL Week 4 betting odds: Seahawks slightly favored over Rams

The St. Louis Rams are slight underdogs at home in Week 4. Can they beat the odds this week?

Jeff Curry-US PRESSWIRE - Presswire

Whoever makes the books must have really had a favorable impression of the home crowd at the Edward Jones Dome in Week 2. The St. Louis Rams return home this week for a game against the Seattle Seahawks as only slight underdogs.

The opening line on the game was actually 1.5 points in favor of Seattle and their defense that sacked Aaron Rodgers eight times on Monday night. A few sports books have since moved that up to anywhere from 2.5 to 3 points on the spread.

St. Louis is scoring slightly more points than the Seahawks, 20 versus 19 points per game on average. Seattle's defense has a distinct edge, allowing an average of 13 points per game. The Rams defense is allowing an average of 26 points per game, though that number has improved each week.

Last week in Chicago was the first time this season the Rams did not cover the spread. Seattle is 2-1 against the spread themselves.

The over/under suggests a defensive battle, or the meeting of two offensively challenged teams, ranging from 37-40 points.
