The St. Louis Rams were without a running back Steven Jackson at Wednesday's practice as he recovers from a groin injury suffered in Sunday's win over the Washington Redskins. Jackson is listed as day-to-day on the injury report.

Jackson was not the only sitting out practice. Fullback Brit Miller was also out of action on Wednesday nursing a sore quad.

An MRI on Jackson's groin came back negative this week, showing that he had not sustained any serious damage. Still, groin injuries are nothing new for Jackson, who was limited early last season with a groin injury suffered in the season opener.

Sitting out a midweek practice is nothing new for the veteran running back either. In fact, it was kind of a regular thing last year. Fisher has been adamant about not pressing his players through injury, but Jackson is a different story than a backup player. Daryl Richardson ran well in place of Jackson to finish last week's game. The Bears defense is a tougher nut to crack.
