St. Louis Rams fans are holding their breath following a first quarter ankle injury to rookie defensive tackle Michael Brockers. A Baltimore Ravens offensive lineman rolled onto Brockers' right ankle on what looked like a chop block, though the television angle did not make that clear. He left the game and will not return.
The training staff and even head coach Jeff Fisher rushed onto the field to attend Brockers, and he had to be helped off the field.
At half time, Fisher said told the broadcast that Brockers' ankle injury was "not too serious." More information should be available following the game or on Friday should he be sent for an MRI.
Losing Brockers for any stretch of time would be a big blow to the Rams. The depth chart behind him and Kendall Langford, the other starting defensive tackle, consists of UDFA Matt Conrath and Jermelle Cudjo, as the most likely players to make the final cut with veteran Trevor Laws on IR.
