For some, rookie kicker Greg Zuerlein was the best part of the St. Louis Rams offense against the Dallas Cowboys this weekend. The sixth-round pick hit two field goals beyond 50 yards, a 55-yarder and a 52-yarder that looked like easy chip shots.
Already, the kicker from Missouri Western has allowed the Rams to release two kickers, including veteran Josh Brown who got the boot hours after the team drafted Zuerlein. Not a bad start for Greg The Leg.
Now, if only he could get a little respect from the folks at the NFL Shop. Go ahead, drop $150 bones on a Greg the Leg jersey, just don't be disappointed when you get the above version of it, complete with the wrong spelling of his name.
Kickers are already semi-anonymous in the NFL, and that will be especially true for a rookie kicker. But come on, at least check the official draft results and team rosters before sending the order to the sweatshops who make the jerseys.
Hat tip to SB Nation St. Louis.
