The St. Louis Rams don't play just any old ordinary preseason football game on Saturday night. They host the Kansas City Chiefs, the state's blue-eyed prodigal son of a football team, for the right to hoist the Governor's Cup, the chalice that determines which of Missouri's two NFL teams is more up to speed on their playbooks in August.

I believe the Governor will be in attendance, if not a few of the state's other politicos, trying to rub off a little sheen for themselves from Jeff Fisher's moustache. But the groomed facial hair of leadership has nothing for craven politicians (until it's time to ask the state for stadium dough).

The moustache has only the need to see solid fundamentals and good execution from his brigadiers. A few points to show for the effort would be appreciated too.

If you'd like to learn more about the Governor's Cup, 3k penned a more exhaustive history in 2009.

Enjoy the game. Don't freak out too much.

Go Rams!
