Gregg Williams has plenty of time on his hands these days, having been banished indefinitely by the NFL for his role in the New Orleans Saints bounty gate scandal. With all that extra time, Williams is going to do some traveling, and his next stop is the remote jungles of Northern Thailand.

Williams left Wednesday morning with his backpack for the Golden Triangle, an area last visited regularly by American CIA agents packing opium to sell on behalf of anti-Communist outlaws making their way through the post-colonial disruption in Southeast Asia. Things have calmed slightly since then.

So what is Williams doing looking for Colonel Kurtz? According to Jason LaCanfora, it's an existential journey. Williams is looking for some "perspective" and to "alter his world view." He is apparently going pretty minimalist too. It actually sounds pretty neat.

Trips to Africa and other parts of the world are next on Williams' long strange trip. A return to the NFL is also not out of the question, though seems like a long shot.
