St. Louis Rams starting left tackle Rodger Saffold has been fully cleared for training camp this year. Saffold struggled last season, before a torn pectoral muscle put him on injured reserve. The third-year offensive tackle shared the news via Twitter on Wednesday morning.

The Rams are counting Saffold in a big way this season, hoping that he can get back to his rookie form. Last year, before he was injured, Saffold was credited with 11 sacks and more than 30 total pressures according to Pro Football Focus.

In this recent post, we looked at some of the bizarre playcalling from McDaniels last year that left Saffold on an island against pass rushers like Brian Orakpo. Another issue was that the team often had to send another blocker to help out Jason Smith on the right side.

The good news is that Saffold has the ability to round back into form this season. That starts with getting healthy and being on the field.
