The St. Louis Rams had another player on the NFL Top 100 players list. Running back Steven Jackson checked in at No. 37 as the league's official propaganda arm unveiled the latest round of rankings on Wednesday night.
The list is voted on by active NFL players, which is significant. The clip for Jackson featured Eagles defensive lineman Cullen Jenkins recounting SJ's breakaway touchdown in the season opener last season. It was a highlight play for sure, but it was also one that set the tone for the Rams' struggles. Jackson was injured on the play and was limited in the weeks after that.
Niners linebacker Patrick Willis also dished on how much respect he has for Jackson, and the two have had some epic battles over the years.
Hopefully this is the start of a new era in which Jackson finally gets to be part of a successful team, one that even makes the playoffs. His feats are pretty remarkable over the years, and he doesn't get the credit he deserves because the team around him was in such shambles for so long.
