Rookie running back Isaiah Pead made his first appearance with the full St. Louis Rams squad at Wednesday's minicamp. His class at the University of Cincinnati graduated, which allowed him to report to the team this week, thanks to the NFL's arcane rules.
Pead also has a brand new contract, which he announced via Twitter.
It is good to be employed. We can all agree on that point. For Pead, employment meant being at Rams Park next to running back Steven Jackson, an invaluable opportunity to learn the ropes of the NFL game from one of the best in the business.
Pead will spend extra time getting up to speed after missing the other sessions this spring. Fortunately, running backs have an easier transition than a receiver. However, Brian Schottenheimer's offense relies heavily on its running backs as pass catchers, so there is more to learning the ropes than just gearing down and running.
It's official. I got my 1st job today
