The St. Louis Saints are coming to town. Who? That just so happens to be the name of our fair city's newest football franchise, part of the Lingerie Football League, which must be very popular for those who lack internet service at their house.
"Saints" was submitted more than any other suggested name for the team. More than 8,500 bothered to submit team name suggestions, which is sort of an impressive number, if true, if you look at the attendance for the city's other football team ... kidding.
If you are at all interested in giving football in your underwear a try, mark your calendars for June 24. The Saints will hold their tryouts from 12 to 3 p.m. at the Vetta Sports Club Soccerdome on Old Tesson Road.
The Lingerie Football League has been around for three years, believe it or not, and the games are broadcast by MTV, or some affiliate of the network that used to show music videos, for those of us old enough to remember.
