Last weekend, the weekend before the 2012 NFL Draft, the St. Louis Rams worked out four wide receivers. Besides Justin Blackmon, that list included Baylor wide receiver Kendall Wright, who discussed with me his visit with the Rams at Wednesday night's NFLPA Rookie Debut event.
Sam Bradford did not accompany Jeff Fisher, Les Snead and others from the top of the food chain at Rams Park. Backup quarterbacks Kellen Clemens and Tom Brandstater did make the trip to Texas and threw the ball to Wright for the workout.
Because you're dying to know, Wright stated emphatically that both players threw the ball well, though not like his former quarterback Robert Griffin III, who Wright raved about.
I asked Wright what the Rams' leadership said about his workout, and he said that they were very pleased with the results, telling him it was a great workout.
Wright may not fit for the Rams where they are currently picking. He is not going to make it out of the first round. Too bad, the Rams could really use a player like that to stretch the field.
