When the St. Louis Dispatch's Jim Thomas reported on the Rams having private workouts with wide receiver prospects Justin Blackmon, Michael Floyd and Kendall Wright, there was a name missing from the list.
Yes Brick Top, the name missing was University of Illinois' own A,J. Jenkins. It seems the "Fighting Illini" phenom got a closer look from Jeff Fisher and Les Snead. Projected by many to be a late round pick, Jenkin's 2011 stats may have turned the Rams' staff's collective heads enough to warrant a their attention? In 2011, Jenkins had 1276 receiving yards and ran a 4.39 - 40 yard dash at the NFL Combine earlier this year.
This could mean the Rams are looking for late round receiver help, and save higher draft picks to address other needs? Whatever happens, I'm glad to see the Rams staff digging for late round nuggets of gold like A.J. Jenkins.
