2012 NFL Draft: TST Community Round 1, Pick 22

The Bengals (and Ramsfanindia) picked Peter Konz out of Wisconsin yesterday. Today, ocruz1 is back with the Browns for the 22nd pick:

Melvin Ingram, DE, South Carolina

Pick Grade:

A+

"It was tempting to go wide receiver here, but with the fourth pick in round two the Browns should have some options there and don't have to pass on a top ten talent like Ingram. Defensive end is a need- while rookie Jamal Sheard showed flashes of excellence last year, they need improvement over Jayme Mitchell at right defensive end. Ingram immediately helps a unit ranked 30th against the rush last year and is of great value at #22."

Analysis after the jump

Talk about a great pick. I'm really surprised Ingram fell this far. I'm not sure if Kalil fits into the Browns plans as he isn't exactly a right tackle, but the Browns have added some serious talent in the first round of the draft.

This is a home run pick for the Browns.
