2012 NFL Draft: TST Community Round 1, Pick 21

Our own Telekinesis snagged the falling Drew Kirkpatrick for Tennessee yesterday. Today, Ramsfanindia is up again picking for the Bengals:

Peter Konz, C, Wisconsin

Pick Grade:

B

"The Bengals need a Guard, and while Kevin Zeitler is there, Peter Konz is way too good of a value here, and he should be able to play the guard position comfortably."

Analysis after the jump

Ramsfanindia had a rough go around last time when he picked Lamar Miller, but given that he probably wouldn't have been available when the Bengals picked in the second, I can understand why he went out and snagged him.

I like this pick better, but I'm unsure about whether or not Konz should be moved to the guard position. He's a great center and is a both a powerful run blocker and good pass protector. He will have a lot of interest in the latter part of the first round.

He's quick enough and smart enough to make the transition should the Bengals decide to place him at guard, but I'm not sure if that's the sort of thing you want to do with a player like Konz. The age old adage of, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it," comes to mind.
