The St. Louis Rams are not quite done in free agency. They may not even be done adding cornerbacks, despite signing Cortland Finnegan to a five-year, $50 million deal. According to Paul Kuharsky, New Orleans Saints free agent cornerback Tracy Porter plans to visit the Rams and the Titans.
Porter's name came up as a potential target for the Rams early last week, before the team signed Finnegan. He obviously has a connection to the coaching staff in St. Louis with defensive coordinator Gregg Williams having been his boss in New Orleans for the last three years.
Porter was a second-round pick of the Saints' in 2008.
The Bengals had Porter in for a visit last week, and Oakland would reportedly like to bring him in for a visit as well.
This could be an interesting addition for the Rams, and probably a smart one. Like Finnegan he can play in the slot. The team's interest in Porter may signal concerns about Bradley Fletcher's health or the viability of Jerome Murphy. I would assume that Porter would start, though he would be a fine third corner to have on the roster.
