NFL Free Agents: Seahawks Sign Jason Jones; Mario Manningham Still In St. Louis

The St. Louis Rams were supposedly still trying to sign defensive tackle Jason Jones on Saturday, ever after they signed defensive tackle Kendall Langford. Jones instead signed a one-year deal with the Seahawks.

Terms of Jones' deal with Seattle are unknown as of this writing, but he figures to have a similar, if not higher, price tag than Langford. It would have been a lot of money for the Rams to tie up in two defensive linemen, and probably not practical given that they still need to find some depth guys and a backup quarterback ... and possibly a wide receiver.

Free agent wide receiver Brandon Lloyd was reportedly close to a deal with the Patriots. It now seems like his asking price is a bit of a problem for New England, according to the Boston Herald. Lloyd's asking price could correlate to what Mario Manningham receives on the market, as similar players.

Guard Travelle Wharton signed a deal with the Bengals on Saturday. The Rams had him in for a visit this week.

Free agent wide receiver Mario Manningham is still in St. Louis on Saturday. The Rams' deal with Langford does not them out of the mix for the former Giants wide receiver, according to Jason La Canfora.
