The St. Louis Rams will get another free agent visit in the near future, this one from recently released Texans offensive tackle Eric Winston. According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, Winston will visit the Rams as well as the Chiefs and Dolphins.
Winston is a solid right tackle that would improve the Rams offensive line instantly. That probably means the team envisions Rodger Saffold on the left side.
That would also give the Rams some room to move with Jason Smith. In fact, the news on Smith has been ominously quiet. Reports earlier in the offseason said that the Rams would ask Smith to take a pay cut or be released. No news is ... interesting to say the least. At the very least, Smith should be in a backup role, if he stays with the Rams this year.
Winston will be an expensive acquisition given the price tag for offensive linemen, especially tackles.
