The biggest prize among the free agent wide receivers, Vincent Jackson, is close to landing in his new home. According to Stephen Holder of the Tampa Bay Times, the Buccaneers and Jackson are close to a deal. That news combined with the news that Pierre Garcon is signing with the Washington Redskins takes two of the top free agent receivers off the market.
The St. Louis Rams were talking to Garcon, and will now have to look elsewhere for help in free agency among receivers.
Garcon's deal is reportedly worth around $8 million per season, which is bloody expensive. Jackson's would have to be at least around $10 million per season to be in line with his previous statements about a contract.
That doesn't leave much in free agency. A couple names the Rams could take a look at that would help their roster include Mario Manningham, a deep threat from the Giants, and Josh Morgan, a talent receiver from the 49ers.
