2012 NFL Free Agency: Rams, Redskins Talking To Pierre Garcon

The St. Louis Rams and the Washington Redskins are both said to be "talking" to free agent wide receiver Pierre Garcon, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN (who else). With so many free agent receivers off the market before the league year began, Garcon is one of the top receivers in free agency.

Garcon is not likely to come too cheap, though cheaper than Vincent Jackson. He turned down a five-year, $35 million deal to stay with Indianapolis earlier in the year.

Garcon had his best season as a pro last year, without Peyton Manning. He had 947 yards and six touchdowns on 70 catches. He had a 56.9 percent catch rate last year and dropped five passes.

Remember, Fisher is familiar with Garcon from his days in the AFC South.

The deal with Garcon is that he is not a number one receiver. In essence, Garcon is a better version of the possession receivers the Rams have now. This could be a solid acquisition for the Rams at the right price.
