2012 NFL Free Agency Open Thread

The new league year has started. The St. Louis Rams have officially submitted the paperwork for the trade with Washington to the league office for approval. It should be a done deal now. Of course, the big news so far in the free agent period is another trade. The Dolphins sent receiver Brandon Marshall to the Chicago Bears for two third-round picks. Not bad.

That deal could have an impact on the Rams by taking the Bears out of the market for Vincent Jackson, the biggest fish in the free agent market. With $30 million in cap space, the Rams do have the room to meet Jackson's anticipated five-year, $50 million asking price ... but that is a lot of jack for one player.
