The St. Louis Rams continue their search for a new general manager. Minnesota Vikings director of player personnel George Paton interviewed with the team last Monday. Paton will have a second interview very soon for the job, possibly as soon as today, according to the Pioneer Press.
Les Snead of the Falcons is the other candidate known to have had a second interview with the Rams.
Paton has been with the Vikings for five years. Prior to that, he worked for the Dolphins from 2001-2006.
Others who have interviewed for the GM job include: Joey Clinkscales, VP of college scouting for the Jets; Brian Gaine, Miami's director of player personnel; Ron Hill, who ran the Falcons drafts from 2001-2003; and Steve Keim, the Cardinals director of player personnel.
Tom Telesco removed his name from consideration after he received a promotion from the Colts.
Two other candidates, Mike Ackerley and Rich Snead, have been reported as candidates before, but are not. TST first reported last Sunday that Rich Snead was not a GM candidate, and the PD had the scoop on Ackerley later that week.
Titans exec Lake Dawson was promoted to VP of player personnel, but some say he could still be in the mix for the Rams job.
